Spiral welded steel pipe introduction

Spiral welded steel pipe refers to the steel pipe with joints on the surface, which is welded after the steel strip or steel plate is bent and deformed into circular, square and other shapes.

Spiral welded steel pipe can be divided into arc welded pipe, high-frequency or low-frequency resistance welded pipe, gas welded pipe, furnace welded pipe, Bundy pipe, etc. according to different welding methods. According to the weld shape, it can be divided into straight seam welded pipe and spiral welded pipe.

Electric welded steel pipes are used in oil drilling and production, machinery manufacturing, etc. Furnace welded pipe can be used as water gas pipe, large diameter straight seam welded pipe is used for high-pressure oil and gas transmission, etc; Spiral welded pipe is used for oil and gas transportation, pipe pile, bridge pier, etc. The cost of welded steel pipe is lower than that of seamless steel pipe, and the production efficiency is higher.

The production process of longitudinal welded pipe is simple, the production efficiency is high, the cost is low, and the development is fast.

The strength of spiral welded pipe is generally higher than that of straight seam welded pipe. It can be used to produce welded pipe with larger pipe diameter with narrower blank, and can also be used to produce welded pipe with different pipe diameter with the same width blank. However, compared with the straight seam pipe with the same length, the weld length increases by 30~100%, and the production speed is low. Therefore, straight seam welding is mostly used for small diameter welded pipe, and spiral welding is mostly used for large diameter welded pipe.
